31 Weeks Pregnant with Twins

31 Weeks

Yesterday and today I put calls into my OB....first time ever with this pregnancy.
Yesterday was because we went to the park to play, a lady came up to me and asked about my pregnancy and then proceeded to tell me her granddaughter had Fithes Disease,  had been playing on all the equipment and after we are done at the park should go home and sanitize myself and Cassie very well.   WHAT?!   You shouldn't be telling me to go home and sanitize....you SHOULD NOT be at a public park!!!!   I remembered reading about Fithes Disease in my pregnancy books so I called my OB to let her know I may have been exposed.   They had me come in for a blood test yesterday and I have to have another blood test in 2 weeks to make sure I am immune or don't become infected with it.

The band on my pants does not cover what it used to!!
I called my OB this morning after harassment from Matt.   I have been getting Braxton Hicks contractions and last night I was getting them at least 8 times an hour from 7:30-9:30.   They weren't painful but I could feel the tightening and my uterus would ball up really hard.   I know I'm supposed to call if there is more than 4 in an hour, however I waited to see if they would go away....which they did.   I feel great this morning and have felt nothing.   The nurse called me and said next time it happens I should call again and that I should try drinking more water and put my feet up more.  She is going to contact the on call doctor and let her know, if she feels I should come in to be monitored she will let me know.  She said they do want to keep a closer eye on me since I'm carrying twins.

Yesterday morning we went to McDonald's for breakfast and to play at the play land.   I saw 2 older ladies looking at me so I knew what was coming.  They asked when I was due.   I told them July and the one ladies eyes got really wide and her mouth literally dropped open.  Then I told her its twins and they will have me deliver next month.  It is fun to see peoples reactions.

When I went to the hospital to have my blood drawn the girl who did it was also pregnant.  She said "we must be due at the same time".  She is due in 2 weeks while I truly have 9 weeks to go and I was double her size.  Its amazing what a body does when it is carrying 2 babies.

I have to say this pregnancy has been great.   I feel great.  I had 3 days earlier this week where I was pretty uncomfortable but that has gone away.  I could easily do a Twin Pregnancy again!    Its been amazing.

First outing out

Today we went on our first big outing with the twins.   We were only gone for about 2 1/2 hours and went to Home Depot, stopped at our new house and went out to lunch at Five Guys.    We were getting the attention walking around with them.   Comments everywhere we went.  A lady at Home Depot told me "You look incredible for having twins 3 weeks ago", that was really nice to hear.    I didn't tell her I am wearing a belly binder to pull in everything (I heard they are supposed to help get your stomach back to normal faster....not sure if that is possible after having twins) plus my hips....holy cow.   I didn't realize it when I was pregnant but now.....are they wide.   Yikes. I'm sure it will take a while to get my old body back, once we have moved I plan to start running again, can't wait to feel the burn again!!
This was supposed to be tummy time for Mandy and she decided to sleep instead
I walked into Five Guys ahead of Matt and he said everyone was talking about me when I went by.   Saying stuff like "Look at her with Twins"

The girls did really well on their outing and slept the entire time.  However, it was nearing eating time on the way back and they let us know they were hungry and not happy.  They are even producing tears now....which I quickly kissed away.
Packing her up for the move (not really!!!)
On Friday I took them to their 2 week check up....by myself.   It actually went smoothly.   They had an extra nurse come into the room to help take the vitals of both babies and when I left a nurse helped carry a baby to my car.   They are growing fast!!
Mandy now weighs over 7 lbs and Emily is now over 5 lbs.

Last week I took all 3 girls out by myself.   One day we went to the library and Kmart.   In the library Emily started to cry so I had to carry her.   I did start to break a sweat for a while but it went smoothly.  After the library we headed to Kmart and all the girls were good.  At both places we did have people stop and ask about the twins.
It felt so....SO...good to get out with all of them and do stuff I would normally do with just Cassie.

We are also in the beginning of a very busy week.  We move on Friday so we are pretty  much living out of boxes right now.  Its chaotic!!    Boxes are everywhere.  The majority of Cassie's toys are packed away which isn't fun for her.   We are so excited to get into our new house, unpack and get organized!!

Field Trip to the Fire Station!

My Mom came over today to watch the twins so I could take Cassie on a field trip to a fire station with some other kids.    It was nice to have just some me and her time.   She loved it and kept telling me how cool it was.

The wheel is as big as her!

"Don't be scared of firemen!"

As close as she would get....the mask scared some kids
It was a fun time for her and I.   My Mom did well with both babies also...she even had to feed them together and did just fine.

Last Friday we moved into our new house and I have to say we LOVE it.   We love the house and we love the subdivision.   There are trails thru out the subdivion that we have walked alot of and every one we meet is so friendly.   This will be the house that we watch our kids grow up in and pretty much spend the rest of our lives here.

We are pretty much unpacked.  Now we need to paint and hang pictures, but for the most part we got settled and unpacked in record time.

The girls are doing great.   The twins will be 6 weeks on Monday!   They are pretty good babies, we have had a couple of nights where they are both cranky from 6-10 at night but thats not the norm.   They go to bed around 9/9:30 and get up at midnight and 3 am to feed.  Today we went to Home Depot to order blinds for the whole house and all 3 girls were perfect.   The people working there told us Cassie was very well behaved and the babies were very good babies.   That was a nice compliment!

I am starting to get back into the swing of things.   I had a play date at our house on Thursday.   I got up that morning to feed the babies, ran at 5am, got home and made blueberry muffins and was ready for all of our friends by 10:00.

My poor body, its not the same after having twins.   Tummy Tuck may be in my future....for real.   Ever heard of Twin Skin...well I think I have it.  Who knows, I had the twins a month ago so we will see what improvment happens as the months go by.  I have to go clothes shopping big time.   My old clothes don't fit me so I am stuck wearing a few maternity clothes I have....I loved wearing maternity clothes but I don't love it when I am NOT pregnant.

Still amazes me to see my 3 children
